This past Wednesday, I had the privilege of hanging in the studio with musical polymath Jesse Fischer and his supremely talented collaborators as they cut Jesse’s new record. As a researcher, I gained more great insights into the creative processes of composers, musicians, engineers, and documentarians; as a fan, I had a hell of a lot of fun listening to the music and rapping with the artists.
But more on all that later. Right now, Jesse is asking for help to fund this project. Check out his Indiegogo campaign, and please consider contributing. There are some great perks; at a minimum, you’ll get to hear this incredible music once it’s released, and you’ll feel good that you supported an artist directly. And if you can’t contribute right now but you know someone who likes jazz, funk, soul, world music, pop, hip-hop, etc. (yeah, it’s all in there), then spread the word!
